Overview

What the system does once it is running, what you can change yourself, and what still needs an engineer.

Who this is for

No commands here. This is what the system does once an engineer has stood it up: what you can change yourself, and what still needs an engineer.

Pre-alpha. Do not run your business on Sumeru yet. Use these guides to evaluate and experiment.

Three things to know

  1. You switch apps on. The Apps screen lists every available module. Installing one brings its own menus, screens and permission groups. Install only what you use. Details: Apps & install.
  2. Roles decide what people see. Users belong to groups, and groups carry both menu visibility and record access. A salesperson sees their own orders; a manager sees all of them.
  3. One database, several companies. A group of companies runs on a single system with a switcher in the top bar. Records follow the company they were created in. This is not multi-tenant SaaS isolation. Details: Multi-company and Isolation model.

The flow that works today

Lead -> Won -> Quotation -> Sales order -> Invoice -> Journal entries. Each arrow can be automatic: the system reacts to a status change rather than asking someone to re-key the same figures. Full walkthrough: Lead-to-cash.

Workspace UX

  • Profile photo. Settings → Users → open your user → click the avatar in the title area to crop and upload a photo. Zoom/pan is saved automatically.
  • Save feedback. Successful saves show a short toast top-right. Validation errors highlight fields and scroll into view.
  • Kanban photos. CRM and other kanban boards show full card photos where an image field is present.
  • Export and import. Views with Report enabled offer CSV/PDF download and bulk CSV import (see Report engine).

What still needs an engineer

  • First install, config and database (see Installation)
  • Custom addons, new models and XML views
  • API keys and integrations (API keys)

Continue with Apps & install, or jump to Lead-to-cash.

What not to do

  • Do not install every app "just in case"; install what you use.
  • Do not assume multi-company equals multi-tenant hosting.
  • Do not treat missing taxes, payments or inventory as temporary UI gaps; they are not built yet.
